I love taking pictures….lots and lots of pictures. If it is moving, it’s mine. If it’s not moving, well, it’s still mine. Love taking those pictures, especially of wildlife in action. A butterfly flitting from flower to flower; a bee who’s legs are so swollen from gathering pollen; a baby bird that has just left the nest and is waiting patiently for the mother to return with a juicy worm in her mouth. If I can get those pictures, I have accomplished something really wonderful.

Another passion is my yard – to dig in the soil and to actually smell the earth. To plant seeds and watch them sprout, grow, bloom and then to take cuttings to bring into my home, allowing the sunshine to follow. Nothing compares to fresh cut flowers in a vase of water on your counter to brighten up the whole room. To actually work in the rain and then have the sun reappear and dry my clothes, as I’m weeding through my garden. There is nothing as pure and perfect as that!

It is from these moments that I get my inspiration for my photographs, most of which are taken in my own backyard with my digital camera.
